It has been almost 5 years since OBJ made “The Catch” that put him on the map. To celebrate his “larger-than-life” game and how he got there, Nike will release The Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 OBJ cleats. The cleat design is meant to symbolizing Odell’s pass route that lead to “The Catch” with details featuring a gold linear design on the upper. On the sides of the cleat we see a nod to OBJ’s Scorpio sign as scorpions are stitched into the cleats. While on the toe box of the cleat in gold stitching is his personal logo. These special cleats will go on sale July 25th.

Kyrie Irving has officially teamed up with Spongebob and his crew from Bikini Bottom to create these unique kicks. Each of the main characters from the show; SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and Sandy will have their own version of the shoe created from their unique characteristics.

The SpongeBob version features a bright-yellow upper with a brown and red sole inspired by his everyday outfit. The Patrick version comes in with a pink coloring and a green sole to match his shorts. For the Squidward pair, his recognizable seafoam green coloring is the main focus. Mr. Krabs and Sandy styles are both on the low versions of the Kyrie shoe, and incorporate their signature colors and look into the design. Each pair of shoes features special insoles of the characters faces to take the detail one step further. We will see the Nike Kyrie x SpongeBob Collection release on August 10.

The Florida Gators have started to release some of the cleat options their team will rock this season. UNDER ARMOUR

Under Armour took their design inspiration from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on the UA Yard cleats. The white cleats feature a bright contrast of colors, creating a tie-die pattern with the words “LET’S ROCK LET’S ROLL” on the tongue. On the inside of the cleat we see the silhouette of a baseball player in full uniform swinging a guitar as if it were a baseball bat.

NIKE

Nike took its inspiration from Cleveland’s history as the Rock and Roll Capital of the World. The silhouette for the designs are the new Nike Force Zoom Trout 6 cleats. Each of the colorways have been inspired by iconic rock album covers, featuring special materials, such as denim and paisley synthetic.

ADIDAS

Adidas went with an "Iced Out" inspired design for their All-Star players cleats. The designed is meant to be a nod to the All-Star caliber athlete who takes the field with emotions in check, laser-focused and ice in his veins to stay calm under pressure. The "Iced Out" pack features a blend of white, grey, and ice-blue colorways giving a Frozen effect that is highlighted by crystal graphics around the upper, adidas’ iconic Badge of Sport logo sitting on top of ice cycles and a sub-zero thermometer icon on the heel tab.

Cam Newton has released his latest signature cleat, the UA C1N MC. The new silhouette was created to give the feeling of a track spike but with the secure fit of a work boot. The design utilizing a slip-on knitted bootie that has a molded ankle collar for that secure fit. We see on the upper next-generation lacing, TPU tabs and a ghillie system to keep the foot secure, even while absorbing the most explosive cuts. On the bottoms of the cleats are lightweight carbon plates that create enhanced traction on the field, and will allow athletes, like Cam, to quickly step forward into the pocket as defenders look to collapse the edges around him. Mike Trout and Nike have released his sixth signature cleat, the Nike Force Zoom Trout 6 cleat. This time around Trout didn’t hold back when it came to his signature shoe. He dove right in with everything he wanted to see on this cleat. His focus was to give back to the younger generation and really create a cleat that would hit home with them as well as make them the best player on the baseball diamond.

“I held in my feedback for those first meetings, but it was more because I didn’t know Nike could make the smallest changes based on what I wanted. If there was some seam on the cleat I didn’t like, I could change it, or if there was a feature from a past cleat I wanted to bring in, I could do it. Looking back, I should’ve been more vocal from day one.” - Mike Trout

The Five-Tool criteria for Trout’s perfect cleat were:

• Comfort “It starts as soon as you put it on. You need to be able to play and not worry about your feet bothering you.”

• Weight “You obviously can’t have heavy feet out there during play. Linear speed is a critical part of the game.”

• Flair “Does it look good? I’m big on feeling confident in a certain look.”

• Durability “A comfortable cleat needs to last. You can’t have a cleat break down after wearing it for a week.”

• Personal Details “There are details on a cleat that people might not see on camera, but are incredibly personal to me, like the area code to my hometown. A big component for me is when you can present a cleat to someone and build a story around it.”
