Ferrari Turns Engineering Into Art With Special Austin Grand Prix Livery

Ferrari is putting the creative process on display with a special livery for the 2026 United States Grand Prix. Featuring sketches, technical drawings and blueprint-inspired graphics, the design celebrates the work that happens before a Formula 1 car ever reaches the circuit.

Both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will run the look on their SF-26s in Austin, bringing a tribute to Ferrari’s designers, engineers and technicians onto the track.

Developed in close collaboration with title partner HP, the livery draws its identity from the process of building a Formula 1 car. The graphics bring the visual language of development onto the finished machine, turning early ideas and technical work into part of its race-weekend appearance.

That concept gives the design a direct connection to the people behind the performance. Sketches represent the first creative steps, while engineering drawings reference the precision required to turn those ideas into a car ready to compete.

For a team whose finished cars receive so much attention, the Austin livery shifts some of that focus toward the work that makes them possible.

Translating the artwork onto the cars required collaboration between Ferrari and HP specialists. Multiple rounds of testing and refinement helped ensure the detailed graphics could be reproduced accurately.

HP Latex technology was used to produce the blueprint-inspired imagery, continuing the companies’ work together on previous special liveries. The production process supports the theme itself: a creative concept developed, tested and refined before reaching its final form.

Silvia Cavallaro, Ferrari’s Head of Color and Trim, described the project as a way to reveal the creativity, craftsmanship and engineering expertise behind the team’s performance.

Ferrari joins several teams bringing special liveries to the United States Grand Prix, with its design built around the journey from an initial idea to a finished race car.

The sketches and technical graphics give fans another way to examine the SF-26, connecting its exterior to the development work usually kept behind the scenes. In Austin, Leclerc and Hamilton’s cars will carry a visual tribute to the people who helped bring them to the grid.
