The New York Islanders have released their third jersey for the upcoming season. The design celebrates the Islander’s storied tradition as well as embracing their future. The new alternate jersey creates a new signature look for the team with the re-designed NY crest, that has been made more symmetrical. The team’s four iconic stripes have been moved down to the blade to show the Islanders historic consecutive Stanley Cup Championships. We see a nod to the team’s heritage within the color palette, stripes and orange numbering that is reminiscent of the team’s inaugural 1972-1973 blue sweater. On the inside of the neckline we see additional detail of Long Island as well as a “ISLANDERS” moniker on the outside.
