The Charlotte Hornets have revealed their new City Edition uniform. We will get our first look at the new unis on Monday, November 19, when they host the Boston Celtics. The black uni will feature “Buzz City” across the chest in the team’s teal color. The numbers and letters will also feature the same teal coloring. The sides and back of both the jersey and shorts have a gray pattern designed to represent the wings of a hornet. The jersey includes the phrase “City of Flight” above the jock tag at the bottom left. The shorts will display the Hornets H surrounded by wings, similar to those on the original Nike Air Jordan I and II shoes.
“The City Edition uniform is inspired by our fans and their passion that transforms Charlotte into Buzz City,” said Hornets President & Vice Chairman Fred Whitfield. “It represents the civic pride that our organization has for our city and the dedication that our community has for the Hornets. The contrast of the solemn black and vibrant teal evokes the menacing intensity of a hornet and the swarming nature we want opponents to feel when they visit Spectrum Center. We are excited to see the new design worn on the court by our players and in the stands by our fans.”
The Denver Nuggets have released their new City Edition uniform. The new City Edition unis are inspired by the team’s original Rainbow Skyline uniform that was worn by the team from 1981-1993. The 76ers have revealed their new City Edition uniform. The new look draws its inspiration from one of Philadelphia’s favorite sons, Rocky. The grey sweatsuit coloring and texture of the uniform is meant to resemble that of both Donnie Creed’s and Rocky’s iconic training scenes. The belt trim on the shorts was inspired by Rocky’s championship belt and at the center shows off the Benjamin Franklin basketball logo. On the front of the jersey circling the players number we see a circle of stars, that is a nod to the ring that Rocky and Creed first faced off in. This uniform is a great tie to the city of Philadelphia and its Philadelphians.

The men’s gold uniforms have the same navy blue wordmark on the front while the women’s gold jerseys feature “WRECK” above their numbers, which is a nod to Georgia Tech’s famous “Ramblin’ Wreck” moniker. We see both teams’ blue uniforms giving a nod to the tradition of the Institute, by simply including the “TECH” portion of the wordmark in Tech Gold above the numbers.
