New Third Kit for Chelsea
Tottenham New Third Kit
Chelsea will hit the pitch in a new third kit for the 2019-20 season. The third kit draws its inspiration from the 1994-96 away jersey, on black. The jersey has a good amount of details that are nods to ’90s soccer. The jersey features a unique knit rising from the fabric of the shirt pattern, an old-school style squared-off collar and a retro Nike Futura logo. We see orange trim on the collar and sleeves pop against the black jersey, which has an embossed "CFC" pattern that runs diagonally across the jersey. "Chelsea FC" is printed across the neckline, above the Nike logo as well as on the club crest. The font, used is from ’90s match-day programs, to give another special feature to kit. To finish off the look Chelsea will wear bright-orange socks, which feature a Nike logo midway up the shin, with black shorts.
“You can see the ’90s influence in fashion at the moment, and I think the kit will appeal to pretty much everyone. Younger fans will like that it has a streetwear vibe and older fans will appreciate the sentimentality, remembering club legends who donned the famous jersey and their memories of going to games.” -Midfielder Mason Mount
We will see Chelsea debut the new third kit October 2, when their European campaign begins against Lille.
Manchester United Third Kit
Tottenham has introduced their 2019-20 third kit that will pay tribute to the iconic players of the past and bring back the famous light blue colorway. The new kit features the light blue coloring from head to toe along with other nods to ’90s jersey culture. On the front of the jersey we see an alternating matte/shine pattern forming a "Spurs" graphic, along with the club crest having elevated trim to give the ’90s vibe.
The jersey has dark blue trim on the sleeves and on the classic-’90s button-down collar. The same dark blue details are found in the shorts and crowns the light blue socks.
“Everyone will see the retro influence; it’s a tribute to the jersey culture of the 90s. When you see the light blue, you think of those players that paved the way, and I hope this year we can wear it with pride to go all the way.” -forward Harry Kane
