The Los Angeles Lakers have introduce two new uniforms for the upcoming season. The Lakers will have a new City Edition or Lore Series uniform as well as a new Classic Edition look. Both looks are a nod to the Lakers of to the early 1960s, honoring the 60th anniversary of the Minneapolis Lakers relocation to Los Angeles for the 1960-61 season.
The lore series uniform pays tribute to Elgin Baylor, one of the first players to play above the rim and truly weaponize the jump-shot. Where the Classic looks features the same Los Angeles script across the chest and colorway that we saw worn in the early 60s.
The new 2020-21 City Edition threads for the Houston Rockets look to be nod to the City of Houston’s flag with the light blue colorway. We see across the chest in white with red trim “H-Town”, the nickname for the city. The jersey and shorts feature dark blue piping throughout. The short’s waistband comes in with a thick white and red stripe and ROCKETS spelled out on the front of the waistband.
The Minnesota Timberwolves 2020-21 City Edition uniform pays tribute to the North Star. The uni is a midnight black colorway with hits of aurora green throughout. Running down the right side the uniform is a collection of silver stars, representing the connection amongst people in Minnesota and around the world. The jersey features MINN across the chest with a single aurora green star above it. The Aurora green continues with the piping of the jersey and into waistband of the shorts.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have infused the history of Rock & Roll into their new 2020-21 City Edition Uniform. The black jersey is highlighted by an irregular font that spells out CLEVELAND on the front of the jersey, and is accompanied by bold numbers. Above the jersey jock tag the quote “LONG LIVE ROCK” is in bright red, as a nod to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s anthem and the iconic sign at the entrance of the museum in Cleveland.
The waistband of the shorts will feature a silhouette of the Cleveland skyline within a white guitar pick. A unique design element come in on the side of the shorts with a collective of Cleveland badges inspired by tour pins and jacket patches.

The 2020-21 Brooklyn Nets new City Edition unfirom received its inspiration from artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The BKLYN Nets lettering across the chest of the jersey was inspired by Basquiat’s signature style. Running down the left side of the jersey it a multi-colored stripe meant to reflect a style from Basquiat’s work. We see a similar striping on both sides of the shorts. The crown on the shorts is similar to the one used in most of Basquiat’s art, as well as a representation of Kings County.
The Pacers have revealed their new 2020-21 City Edition threads. The blue based uniform features gold stripes that will return for the first time 2013. The royal blue color is drawn from the Indiana State flag. While on the waistband of the shorts we see a basketball-inspired torch emblem reinforcing that Indiana grows the game of Basketball. The quote ‘We Grow Basketball Here’ is found above the jock tag of the jersey. The side panels of the jersey and shorts feature a gold and white color blocking with gold piping around the neck and arms.
The new 2020-21 City Edition Uniform for the Milwaukee Bucks has been released. The uniform is the first time the Bucks will feature the Great Lakes Blue coloring. The uniform features three different shades of blue thought out it, representing the three rivers that run through the city as well as the depths of Lake Michigan. The numbers feature a special coating that reflects the light making them look wet. The phrase ‘Gathering Place’ is placed above the jerseys jock tag symbolizing Milwaukee’s beginning and the organizations role in bringing people together. On the waistband of the shorts we see the water outlines of the Bucks tertiary logo, showing the major bodies of water that bring the state together.
The LA Clippers unveil their 2020-21 City Edition Uniform. The team partnered once again with LA-based graffiti artist Mister Cartoon for this year’s look. The Clippers will go with a black base and white accents look inverted from what we saw them wear last season. The popular Los Angeles wordmark will remain across the chest of the jersey. The primary icon is visible near the short hem and, keeping with the jersey’s black and white theme. The secondary icon is found on the uniform's belt with a white outline and black fill. The final placement features the Clippers wordmark in white above the jersey jock tag.

Arizona State revealed new black uniforms for the upcoming season. The new jersey features a gradient maroon and gold pipping on the neck and sleeves. The chest will have the ASU pitchfork above the gold players number. The same gradient pipping will run down the shorts and have the pitchfork placed on the sides.
The Dallas Mavericks new 2020-21 City Edition uniforms are inspired by the myth of Pegasus. Pegasus has represented power and strength for thousands of years and has been a symbol of one that breaks through darkness with hope and light. A Pegasus has stood watch over Downtown Dallas, and has become an emblem of growth and prosperity.
The White and Gold uniform features Dallas across the chest in gold with gold piping running throughout. A silver wing design is featured on the sides of the jersey and running into the shorts. On the waistband we see a 40th Anniversary logo placed to commemorate the team’s 4o years in Dallas. Above the jock tag on the jersey is the skyline of Dallas, which we have seen on all City Edition uniforms in the past for the Mavs.
