The NHL has officially revealed the uniforms for one of the most anticipated events of the hockey calendar: the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic. On January 2, 2026, the reigning two-time Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers will take the ice against the New York Rangers at loanDepot Park in Miami, marking the southernmost outdoor game in NHL history.
As the 17th Winter Classic since its debut in 2008, this matchup brings the tradition of outdoor hockey to an entirely new setting Miami’s warm, vibrant environment and the uniforms follow suit with a design rooted deeply in Florida hockey lore and the region’s military ties.
The Panthers’ Winter Classic jersey leans into history with a retro-inspired version of the iconic “leaping panther” crest. This isn’t just a printed graphic, the crest is crafted with felt and chain stitching, bringing back the hand-tooled texture and detail of classic hockey sweaters.
That same level of artistry continues on the shoulder patches, further emphasizing the old-school craftsmanship that defined hockey’s earliest eras.
