Indiana University is celebrating their bicentennial birthday this year and for the special occasion the Hoosiers’ will have special uniforms. The alternate uniform design is a blend of past and present with different elements paying homage to Indiana. The jerseys will have candy-stripe graphics on the shoulders, which were inspired by the 1930s swim team and 1970s basketball team. The wordmark across the chest of the jersey draws its inspiration from one of the first football uniforms worn by Indiana. The decal on the helmets will be a retro decal of the IU lock up to finish off the look.
We will see the Hoosiers wear the special uniforms for their Bicentennial Homecoming game against Rutgers, Saturday, Oct. 12.
