The ECU Pirates have revealed a special look for their homecoming game on October 15th. The special look was designed by senior Will Treadway and takes different elements from the past dating back to the 1970s. The purple jerseys feature blocked numbers as a nod to the 1980 uniforms with white numbers and a gold drop shadow. The workmark PIRATES lettering across the chest ties three decades of uniform elements together. We see the striping pattern from the 1990’s on the sleeves, pants and helmets.
The white helmet will have purple cursive Pirates logos on each side that were worn during the 1970's. To go along with a gold face mask, two purple and one gold stripe down the center of the helmet as well as the ECU 1990's logo will be placed on the helmet bumper.
"I designed a "Modern Throwback" uniform with the intention of connecting multiple decades of Pirate Football. I used elements from different Pirate uniforms from 1970 until now to represent multiple generations of Pirate Fans. This look is both to celebrate our past and get fans excited for the future. The BYU Cougars have revealed special hand painted helmets. The royal blue helmet features the BYU classic Y with mountains painted below it on one side. The other side is a shot of a hand painted cougars face. A white facemask and chinstrap will round out the custom helmets.
The helmet will be paired with white jerseys and pants to finish off the look.
The Chicago Bears have unveiled their new alternate orange helmet. The helmet will be similar to the traditional navy blue helmet with the wishbone C logo on either side but in navy outlined in white.
"We believe we have the best uniforms in sport, certainly among the most iconic. So, we're not looking to overhaul it. We just want to make enhancements to the existing look from time to time and we think this is a great enhancement. I'm very excited for this modification. I like that it's staying within the traditional Bears look. We're excited about them and hope the fans will be too." -Bears Chairman George H. McCaskey
The Bears will wear the new orange helmet for two games in 2022, Oct. 13 vs. the Washington Commanders at Soldier Field and Oct. 30 in Dallas against the Cowboys.

The Arizona State Sun Devils have officially revealed their tan alternate uniform for the upcoming season. The look was inspired by the sunrises and desert landscape found in Arizona. The front of the jersey features a script Sun Devils with a retro drop shadow. The numbers feature the same drop shade affect and are in a gold ombre coloring. The Sun Devils script has also been placed on sides of the helmet to finish off the look for Arizona State.
The Sun Devils will take the field in the alternate look on October 8th when they play the Washington Huskies.
The Yale Bulldogs will have special throwback uniforms this week. Honoring 150 years of football history we see the retro uniform modeled after the ones worn by Walter Camp, an 1880 Yale graduate who is considered the father of American football.
The jerseys are a cream color, the exact same as Yale's varsity sweater. Inside the numbers on the jersey are the rules, which were featured in Walter Camp's famous 1893 book. The faux embroidery down the center, mimics the original uniforms. We see the helmet and the pants in the traditional Yale Blue. Details on the helmets feature a cream Y with Heisman Trophies on each side, in honor of Yale's two Heisman winners - Larry Kelley '37 and Clint Frank '38. Down the center of the helmet the two classic Yale stripes list the last name of every Yale football captain since 1872.

The Tennessee Volunteers announced that they are bringing back their OG Smokey Grey uniform for the upcoming season. The fan favorite look features a two-toned grey jersey with orange numbers. The gray pants have an orange stripe and checkerboard pattern running down the legs. The finishing touch comes with the gray helmet that features the orange Power T with a subtle silhouette of the Smoky Mountains with an orange center stripe.
The volunteers have announced they are starting a Smokey Grey series that will have an alternate uniform for at least the next four season.
The BYU Cougars will wear special black uniforms this week as they take on Notre Dame in the 2022 Shamrock Series. The black jerseys feature white numbers outlined in blue with blue shoulder stripes. The helmet for the black jersey and pants combo has a blue to black fade as you move from top to bottom and features the BYU logo on either side with a black facemask.
