Penn State Football Unveils New adidas Uniforms
A new apparel era has officially begun in Happy Valley, but one thing remains unchanged: Penn State's timeless football uniforms.
As adidas officially took over as Penn State Athletics' apparel provider on July 1, the Nittany Lions unveiled their new football uniforms, giving fans their first look at one of college football's most iconic designs under a new brand. For a program known for its unwavering commitment to tradition, the biggest takeaway is simple, the uniforms look almost exactly as they did before.
The classic navy home jersey, crisp white road uniform, plain helmets and black cleats all remain intact. The only immediately noticeable difference is the replacement of Nike's Swoosh with adidas' signature Three Stripes, marking the beginning of a new chapter while preserving one of the sport's most recognizable identities.
The decision to leave the uniforms largely untouched comes as little surprise. Penn State has made only minor adjustments to its football uniforms over the past five decades, making consistency one of the defining characteristics of the program's brand. When adidas announced its partnership with Penn State in 2025, the company made it clear that preserving the university's tradition would be a top priority.
