Sixers Unveil 2001 Throwback Court for 25th Anniversary of Conference Championship Season
The Philadelphia 76ers are bringing back a piece of history this season, unveiling a throwback court design that pays tribute to one of the most iconic chapters in franchise history: the 2000-01 campaign.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the team’s Eastern Conference Championship season, the Sixers will debut a hardwood design nearly identical to the one Allen Iverson played on during his unforgettable MVP run. That season, Iverson carried the Sixers to an NBA Finals appearance and cemented his place as one of the greatest players in league history.
The court design, complete with its early-2000s aesthetic, will transport fans right back to the era of A.I., Larry Brown, and the gritty squad that captured the heart of Philadelphia. From Iverson’s legendary step-over on Tyronn Lue to the team’s relentless fight throughout the playoffs, the design serves as both a visual and emotional throwback for Sixers fans.
The Sixers will play on the court 14 times throughout the season as part of their year-long celebration. Each game promises to carry an extra level of nostalgia as fans and players alike honor the team’s 2001 Eastern Conference Championship and the enduring legacy of one of the most beloved teams in franchise history.
This throwback court not only commemorates a milestone anniversary but also reconnects a new generation of fans to one of the defining moments in Sixers basketball.
