University of Maryland Hoops Unveil Exclusive Iridescent Uniforms
The University of Maryland is set to debut exclusive limited-edition basketball uniforms over the next two weeks. The nationally ranked women’s team will unveil the new look on February 22 against Purdue Boilermakers, while the men’s team will take the floor in the uniforms March 1 versus Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Maryland has long been synonymous with forward-thinking uniform design, dating back to its early-2000s. The new uniforms feature a striking icy white base paired with iridescent numerals and a “Maryland” wordmark across the chest. Matching iridescent treatments appear on the UA and Big Ten logos, while the shorts showcase the Maryland M-Bar logo rendered in the same luminous finish. The iridescence blends gold, black, and red, a unique interpretation of the school’s colors and is owned exclusively by the university, reinforcing the program’s distinct visual identity.
Designed with both performance and visual impact in mind, the all-white base and trim create a clean, minimalist silhouette that allows the iridescent detailing to stand out under arena lighting. The result is a modern, almost futuristic look that reflects Maryland’s history of pushing boundaries in collegiate athletics.
