WNBA Push Uniform Storytelling Forward with New 2026 Rebel Edition Collection

The WNBA officially unveiled the league’s new 2026 Rebel Edition uniforms. Created in collaboration with all 15 franchises, the latest Rebel Edition rollout was designed around the communities, history, and local influences that shape each team’s identity. Rather than simply creating alternate jerseys, Nike and the WNBA approached the project as a storytelling platform, one that connects players, cities, and fans through design.

According to Nike, the uniforms reflect each team’s “energy, spirit, values and local influences,” while creating deeper emotional connection and cultural authenticity both on and off the court.

The Rebel Edition series has become one of the defining visual pillars of the modern WNBA. Alongside the league’s Heroine Edition (white) and Explorer Edition (team-color) uniforms, the Rebel Edition serves as the boldest expression of each franchise’s personality. But unlike many alternate uniform programs across sports, the WNBA’s approach consistently prioritizes storytelling over gimmicks.

“The latest WNBA Nike Rebel Edition uniforms set a new standard for design, reflecting players’ confidence, self-expression and a shared rebel spirit while elevating the game on the court, in culture and for fans around the world,” Nike said during the launch.

Whether honoring city neighborhoods, architectural landmarks, women’s basketball pioneers, or local cultural movements, the 2026 Rebel Edition collection reinforces how the WNBA continues to lead sports visually and culturally.

“Each Rebel uniform is an opportunity to bring the team’s identity into sharper focus and let their energy speak in a new way on court,” said Nike designer Katie West.
