The Green Bay Packers are taking fans on a journey through time with their latest throwback uniform reveal—honoring the team’s 1923 look in a bold and beautiful way.
Set to debut during the 2025 NFL season, these throwback uniforms pay tribute to one of the earliest eras of Packers football, right after the team joined what is now known as the NFL in 1921. With a design steeped in tradition and historical accuracy, the uniforms are a salute to the grit, grind, and leather-bound legacy of football’s earliest days.
The highlight of the ensemble is the custom helmet—a hand-painted, airbrushed masterpiece that replicates the old-school leather helmets worn by players a century ago. Complete with realistic straps, stitching, holes, and shading, the helmet is a modern shell dressed up in vintage armor. The design gives off an authentic leather appearance while offering today’s protection and safety standards.
The throwback jersey features a deep navy blue base with bold gold block numbers front and back. Three thin gold stripes line the sleeves, mimicking the striping pattern found on the Packers’ long-sleeved wool sweaters from 1922 to 1924. It’s a clean yet powerful design—classic, functional, and full of character. Paired with matching pants and socks, the look brings a unified old-school aesthetic to life.
Gold has long been a part of the Packers’ DNA, and this uniform reinforces that history. The vibrant yellow-gold elements pop against the navy base, celebrating the traditional color scheme that helped define the franchise’s identity in its formative years.
Adding to the historical flair, the uniform includes the NFL shield as a reminder of the Packers’ foundational role in the league. The team was officially admitted to the league during a 1921 meeting in Chicago, and this look honors that early chapter of Packers and league history alike.
The 1923 throwback will be worn during select games this season, offering fans a chance to see the modern Packers take the field in a uniform that echoes a century of tradition.
From the handcrafted helmet to the old-school sleeve stripes, the Packers’ 1923 Classic uniform isn’t just a look—it’s a legacy.

LeBron James is back with another major sneaker flex this time on the football field. The NBA icon has gifted the Ohio State Buckeyes a pair of customized cleats inspired by his own “Grand Opening” Nike LeBron 23 basketball shoe. Designed for this football season, the cleats merge LeBron’s legacy with Buckeye style and performance.
To honor his home-state team and his own signature journey, LeBron’s team at Nike crafted two football cleats: the Nike Alpha Menace 4 Elite and the Nike Vapor Pro 1. Both feature key design elements pulled from the basketball version of the LeBron 23, the “Grand Opening” colorway, while transforming them into high-performance gear for the gridiron. White/University Red/Metallic Gold prints? Check. Modified sole plates, football-ready materials, and Ohio State branding? Double check.
It’s unclear whether these cleats will ever hit retail. For now, they’re built exclusively for Ohio State’s game day arsenal. But given how LeBron’s sneaker releases tend to sell out and fetch collector status, you can bet they’ll stir up plenty of buzz in the weeks to come.

A new addition to the best helmets in CFB.
— Ole Miss Football (@OleMissFB) August 21, 2025
Debuting Nov. 1 vs. South Carolina#DripInTheSip | #HottyToddy pic.twitter.com/y9y30vbHgg
For the third straight year, Ole Miss is adding some serious flair to its helmet lineup, and once again, they’ve teamed up with Realtree to do it. The Rebels revealed their newest alternate look: a white camouflage helmet, the latest in what’s quickly become one of the most anticipated traditions in college football.
The camo concept began back in 2023 when Ole Miss debuted a powder blue and white pattern against Texas A&M. That design wasn’t just a fan favorite — it was voted 2023 UNISWAG Helmet of the Year. A year later, the Rebels doubled down on the creativity, unveiling a navy and white version for their matchup with Oklahoma in Oxford. Both helmets turned heads, and both games ended in Ole Miss victories.
Now, the 2025 edition takes things in a cooler direction with the crisp, icy white camo pattern. The Rebels will break out the helmet for a marquee Week 10 showdown with No. 13 South Carolina on November 1, hoping to continue the winning tradition tied to their alternate lids.
Between the design innovation, the collaboration with Realtree, and the on-field success, Ole Miss has carved out a unique space in the uniform game. If history is any indication, the icy white camo might not just be one of the cleanest looks of the year.

— Nebraska Football (@HuskerFootball) August 15, 2025
The Nebraska Huskers are going dark this season for their Nov. 1 matchup against USC. The Huskers will don an all-black alternate uniform, marking the first trip to Lincoln for the Trojans since 2007.
The uniform stays true to the Huskers’ classic design while flipping the color script. The jersey mirrors the standard look with two white sleeve stripes and bold block numbers, but all the iconic red has been swapped for black. Even the famed red “N” on the helmet is now black. One subtle touch: the “Winning Tradition” patch has moved from the front of the jersey to the inside of the collar.
Nebraska fans are known for their Sea of Red, but for this game, the school is calling for a full blackout inside Memorial Stadium. Attendees are encouraged to wear black apparel, giving the Huskers a unified, intimidating presence as they face the Trojans. It’s a rare visual twist on one of college football’s most iconic home environments.
This isn’t the first time NU has gone dark. The last black alternate was worn in 2020 against Illinois. Previous black alternates include matchups against Indiana in 2019, Northwestern in 2015, and UCLA in 2013.
With this alternate, Nebraska not only nods to a history of bold uniform choices but also gives fans a fresh, intimidating look that’s perfect for the spotlight of November football.

Forged in Pittsburgh. Defined by Legacy.
— Pittsburgh Steelers (@steelers) July 21, 2025
📝: https://t.co/9AOP1ZGt7e pic.twitter.com/uNyGGGBYTm
When you talk about Steelers football, you’re talking about legacy. Grit. History. A city and a team that go hand in hand. This season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are honoring that legacy in a big way — unveiling newly redesigned 1933 throwback uniforms set to debut under the primetime lights on Sunday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8.
This isn’t just a uniform drop — it’s a tribute to where it all began.
The Steelers’ 2024 throwback pays homage to the franchise’s first-ever season in 1933, but with modern updates that elevate the look while keeping the roots intact. It’s a perfect blend of vintage detail and new-school energy, and the rollout is as thoughtful as the design itself.
“We're excited to unveil our new throwback uniforms, which not only pay tribute to the origins of the Steelers franchise but also to the deep connection we have to our hometown of Pittsburgh,” said Steelers President Art Rooney II. “It’s especially fitting that we’ll debut these uniforms on Sunday night, when we play the Packers – another historic franchise with deep NFL roots.”
The uniform tells a full story — from helmet to pants — with every piece dialed in to reflect Pittsburgh pride and football heritage:
Gold jersey with bold black stripes and white block lettering trimmed in black
The City of Pittsburgh crest on the left shoulder — a direct nod to the hometown connection
Black block numbers on the back keep it clean and classic
Matte gold helmet with a black center stripe and gray facemask — one of the most talked-about elements so far
The fit is completed with beige pants, tying the look together with a throwback twist
Linebacker Alex Highsmith summed up the vibe perfectly: “The first time I saw it, my jaw dropped. We haven't worn a jersey like that in a while. It's all so cool... the helmet is just sick.”
Tight end Pat Freiermuth echoed the excitement: “The yellow helmet is sweet. It gets players excited. It gets fans excited. After we wear them, I want to keep that helmet forever.”
The players are fully locked in — not just because of the new look, but because of what it represents. It’s not just about flash. It’s about representing decades of greatness and a city that lives and breathes Steelers football.
Unveiling the throwbacks on Sunday Night Football, with the entire nation watching, isn’t just smart — it’s symbolic. This is Pittsburgh’s time to shine, not just in the standings, but in style. The uniform is a visual reminder of where the Steelers started, how far they’ve come, and the pride that continues to define the franchise.
“It’s an honor to wear these uniforms, knowing the history of this organization,” said Highsmith.
“We’ve got to wear it with pride.”
