The NEW ‘CITY EDITION’ uniform for the Thunder is DESIGNED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OKLAHOMA CITY NATIONAL MEMORIAL & MUSEUM. THIS ‘CITY EDITION’ UNIFORM WILL HONOR THE UPCOMING 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE APRIL 19, 1995 BOMBING OF THE ALFRED P. MURRAH FEDERAL BUILDING IN DOWNTOWN OKLAHOMA CITY. THE THUNDER WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE MEMORIAL TO PAY RESPECT TO THE LIVES LOST AND ALL THOSE THAT WERE IMPACTED BY THE BOMBING. THE UNIFORM DESIGN FOR THE SPECIAL ‘CITY EDITION’ UNIFORM FEATURES SYMBOLS THAT REPRESENT ELEMENTS OF THE MEMORIAL. OKLAHOMA CITY WILL APPEAR ACROSS THE CHEST IN GOLD-LINED LETTERS, WITH THE TWIN GATES OF TIME RUNNING DOWN THE SIDES OF THE JERSEY AND INTO THE SHORTS. WE SEE THE TIMES 9:01 AND 9:03 LOCATED IN THE VENTS OF THE SHORTS, TO REFLECT THE INNOCENCE OF THE CITY AT 9:01 BEFORE THE ATTACK, FOLLOWED BY THE TIME THE CITY BEGAN TO COME TOGETHER AND HEAL AT 9:03. ON THE SIDES OF THE SHORTS WE SEE WHITE MEANT TO REPRESENT THE REFLECTING POOL. ABOVE THE JERSEY’S TAG WILL BE THE WORDS “SERVICE,” “HONOR” AND “KINDNESS” AS REFERENCE OF THE OKLAHOMA STANDARD, AND THE MANNER IN WHICH OKLAHOMA CITIZENS TREAT ONE ANOTHER AND THEIR COMMUNITY. ON THE BELT OF THE SHORTS IS THE SURVIVOR TREE, A 90-YEAR-OLD AMERICAN ELM AT THE SITE OF THE MEMORIAL. The Northwestern Men’s Basketball team has revealed their fourth edition of the ‘By The Players’ uniform. The process has the team’s senior athletes work with Under Armour to come up with the design for the senior day uniform. The uniform draws inspiration from Chicago, as all three student-athletes come from different backgrounds but the city of Chicago was a common factor in what brought them to Northwestern. We see the Chicago skyline is found throughout the entire uniform. Triangles on the trim of the shorts reflect the aerial image of the city's beaches along Lake Shore Drive. A nod to city’s Windy City nickname is found with the motion-style text on the purple and lavender uniform.
The team will hit the court on March 7th vs Penn State.
Jacksonville University Men’s Basketball team will pay tribute to the 1969-70 National Finalist team. The green based uniform features a unique jersey that shows the players numbers above the Jacksonville wordmark. Both the jersey and shorts feature gold and white trim to match the lettering and numbers. The looks gives a modern take on a classic look for the team.
LeBron hit the hardwood rocking the LeBron 17 low “Tune Squad” edition kicks when the Lakers took on the Nuggets. The red, white and blue colorway features a shaggy grey fur Nike swoosh that’s a nod to the Tune Squad’s biggest star, Bugs Bunny. On the inside of the shoes we see more tributes to the Tune Squad with “What’s Up Doc” on the inside of the tongue and The Tune Squad logo on the insoles.
The shoes look to be released Feb. 15, retailing for $160.
The Michigan State Spartans men’s basketball program won its second national title in 2000 and will honor that team with these special throwback uniforms. The uniforms feature a recognizable Greek-inspired key pattern used as a trim around the neckline, arm sleeves, waistline and the bottom of the shorts. We see the school’s green running into a stripe down the right side of the jersey and shorts, with it ending at the Michigan State “S.” On the left leg the Michigan State helmet logo is featured.
We will see the Spartan hit the hardwood in the retro look at home on February 15.
The Duke and UNC Men’s Basketball teams will meet for the 100th time this weekend. For the special anniversary of this iconic rivalry Nike and Jordan have revealed special uniforms for both teams. Each team is set to wear their schools respective shade of blue giving a color on color matchup. The front of the jerseys only feature the teams logo, no player numbers. The design is inspired by the first time the teams met in 1920 and mirror the look of the jerseys then. On the inside bottom hem of the jerseys the Roman numerals MCMXX-MMXX are found, which translates to 1920-2020. The final touch come with a gold jock tag and gold ELITE tag on the neck, the gold touch signifies that the program has won at least one national championship as a Nike school.
The Arizona Sun Devils Men’s Basketball team broke out a classic uniform for their Pac 12 showdown. The look paid tribute to the days when James Harden was a Sun Devil, with the gold jersey and shorts featuring the maroon trim and Sparky on chest of the jersey and sides of the shorts. The numbers and lettering on the uniform come in with a maroon base outlined in white. The backs of the jerseys remain nameless and only feature the players number.
Team USA will be decked out by Nike for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020. The medal stand apparel will be a base white color to allow for the different medals to stand out against a blank background. The jackets each athlete will wear are made from 100-percent recycled polyester, while the pants are 100-percent recycled nylon. There will be rubber elements, such as the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Team logos on the chest. Some USA teams get new uniforms including basketball, skateboarding, soccer, and track and field.
Basketball turns the clocks back with their uniform inspiration. The U.S. women’s team will go with a red uniform that is reminiscent of its popular design from the 1996 Games. The men’s team will go with a retro design with USA in blue over white underneath red shoulders.
The U.S. soccer teams will both wear white home jerseys with navy shorts, while the away kits come in with a navy jersey and navy shorts. The away jersey design features a camouflage-inspired design in lighter blue across the chest.
Skateboarders making their sport’s Olympic debut get a unique look with colorful and loose-fitting designs inspired by the skateboarding culture.
Team USA’s track athletes will have a powerful design that features electric patterns of red, white and blue with matching compression sleeves.
Western Kentucky Men’s Basketball team will rock special blackout uniforms Thursday Night when they take on LA Tech. The black based uniform will feature white letters and numbers outlined in red to match the red and white piping seen throughout. On the front of the jersey the word mark Western Kentucky will be split around the players numbers. The shorts will have the WKU W on the front of the waist band with WKU Towel logo on the bottom of the shorts.
Texas A&M Men’s Basketball will wear special pink uniforms for their game on 1/25. The game is the team’s Beat The Hell Outta Breast Cancer game where fans have the opportunity to donate in a number of ways, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Pink Alliance and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The special uniforms feature a black and pink colorway with the letters and numbers being pink on the black jersey and shorts. The special look is sure to turn heads and bring awareness to a great cause.
