New Atlanta Hawks MLK City Edition Uniform

The Atlanta Hawks have revealed the team’s newest City Edition uniform. The upcoming uniform has been a three year process in the making that will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with the letters MLK across the chest. The new City Edition uniform will be the first time in NBA history we see a person’s initials featured on the front of a jersey. The uniform will be a black, gold and white color combo that was inspired by churches that Dr. King preached out. There are 22 stars down the side of the shorts to honor the student Freedom Fighters. A unique detail that appears below the Nike Jock Tag on the jersey is Dr. King’s signature. The team will wear the special City Edition uniforms for select games in the upcoming season and will have a special court to match the uniforms.

New Charlotte Hornets Uniforms

The Charlotte Hornets revealed their new Association and Icon Edition uniforms for the team. The Hornets new unis see the return of the double pinstripes, like the 1997-2002 eara uniform, but the new version features the stripes in the same color.

The new white Association Edition uniform features teal elements with subtle purple outlines and accents. Across the chest of the Association Edition jersey we see “Charlotte” in teal to match the numbers and the Hornets wordmark above the Jock Tag.

The new Icon Edition uniform comes in a teal colorway with white elements and purple accents. Hornets is spelled out across the chest of the Icon Edition jersey in white with white numbers.

The shorts for both uniforms feature the double stripes of the contrasting color on each side that leads to a cell pattern with the team’s secondary logo.

“I think we struck the right balance. Certainly, the double pinstripe was extremely popular in the uniforms that ran from 1997 to the early 2000’s. I think that’s the base. We wanted to have a streamlined, clean design and what that allows us to do is sustain the test of time. There’s a chance that this uniform may not be refreshed in five years. I really like the characteristics and the way we modernized it. It’s not clunky or heavy, but light and modern.” -Seth Bennett, the Hornets’ Senior VP of Consumer Engagement

NBA Jerseys Redesigned

Designer Pete Rogers took some time and reimagined the jersey design for each NBA Team. These are not official uniforms.

“I love designing jerseys in my free time. I have a ton of fun doing research on teams and cities and finding cool and interesting ways to represent that on a jersey. Given that we’re all currently in quarantine with a little extra free time on our hands, I decided a while back to undertake the task of redesigning the entire NBA. After almost a month, I finally completed the redesign and came up with a new jersey for every NBA team. I’ve included a quick blurb with each jersey just laying out my thought process with each one.” Pete Rogers @petemrogers

Take a look below and see which team you think came out the best.

Kevin Durant's New KD13 Signature Shoe

Kevin Durant has released his latest signature shoe, the Nike Zoom KD13. The new shoe features an additional zoom cushion unit that is placed in the forefoot of the shoe below the full-length Air Zoom strobel. The addition and placement of the zoom cushion encourages movement off the ball of the foot.

“The intent behind a Zoom Bag is similar to that of a mechanical spring underfoot. The essence of a spring is to return the amount of energy you put into it. In the KD13, we're doubling the spring in the form of the double-stacked forefoot Zoom, allowing you more travel in the system and more energy back.” -Ross Klein, Senior Creative Director for Nike Basketball

We will see the KD13 launch April 6th globally and April 17th in North America.
