Notre Dame is bringing back one of its most iconic looks.

The Fighting Irish officially unveiled their 2026 "Wear Green" alternate uniform, revealing an updated green look that will take the field against Stanford on Oct. 10.

While green jerseys have become a tradition for Notre Dame during select games, this year's edition introduces one of the most noticeable updates in recent memory.

Replacing the traditional interlocking "ND" logos on the jersey shoulders is the university's iconic Leprechaun logo, giving the uniform a fresh identity while embracing one of the most recognizable symbols in Fighting Irish athletics.

The rest of the uniform stays true to Notre Dame's timeless aesthetic, allowing the bold green jersey to remain the focal point.

The subtle logo swap gives longtime fans something new without straying from the program's classic look.

Notre Dame's green uniforms have become one of college football's most anticipated alternate looks, with the program reserving them for select marquee matchups over the years.

Oregon’s “Origin of Speed” Uniform Connects the Track to the Gridiron

Oregon has built its football uniform identity around speed, experimentation and a willingness to change the look of the game. Its newest uniform, “The Origin of Speed,” brings those ideas together by drawing on the Ducks’ football history, Hayward Field and Nike’s running roots.

The Ducks will debut the look against UCLA on October 10 at Autzen Stadium. It is the final uniform in Oregon’s “Generation O” series and the result of a two-year design process that included input from current players.

The base is Night Forest, Nike’s darkest shade of green. Green Strike numbers take inspiration from Hayward Field’s seating, while hits of Volt connect the design to some of Oregon’s most recognizable uniforms. The result is a dark look that comes alive through its bright details.

The familiar wing design has also been reworked. Oregon calls the new graphic a “kinetic wing,” using its forward motion to suggest the speed needed for flight. It appears on the helmet, shoulders and pants, carrying the same visual idea through the entire uniform.

Look closer and the track references continue. Perforated numbers nod to the waffle iron Bill Bowerman used in developing early Nike running shoes. Brown cushioning inside the cleats recalls Hayward Field’s original clay and cinder surface. Even the angle of the wings—26.2 degrees—references the distance of a marathon in miles.

The uniform’s “O” carries a more personal tribute. Six lanes inside the mark represent Hayward Field’s original track, with lanes four and five distinguished in memory of former Ducks Spencer Webb and Khyree Jackson.

That level of detail is what makes “The Origin of Speed” compelling. From a distance, it has the energy fans expect from an Oregon uniform. Up close, its colors, graphics and hidden references tell a story about the people and places that shaped the program. The Ducks are bringing that history onto the field while giving their signature look a new direction.

Packers Unveil Rivalries Uniform Celebrating the Fans Who Own the Team

The Green Bay Packers are putting a unique spin on the NFL Rivalries program, using their alternate uniform to celebrate one of the most distinctive aspects of the franchise: the fans who literally own a piece of the team.

Green Bay unveiled its new Rivalries uniform Tuesday, with the look set to debut Oct. 11 against the Chicago Bears in the 214th meeting between the NFL's oldest rivalry. Rather than simply introducing another alternate take on green and gold, the Packers designed the uniform around the team's history of community ownership, small-town roots and generations of fan support.

The uniform features a desaturated vintage green jersey paired with alabaster and gold detailing. The alabaster color is inspired by the aged paper of the Packers' historic stock certificates, which have become one of the most recognizable symbols of the team's unique ownership structure. The concept is especially fitting given that Packers stock certificates are displayed in more than 500,000 homes across Wisconsin and around the country.

The financial-history theme continues onto the jersey numbers, which feature an engraved treatment inspired by the intricate lettering found on paper currency. It's a subtle detail that connects the uniform to the financial support that has helped sustain the Packers throughout their history.

A modernized version of the classic interlocking GB logo sits on the chest. The mark draws inspiration from the logo seen on Vince Lombardi-era sideline and practice gear, giving the new uniform another direct connection to Packers history.

The uniform's striping incorporates vintage-inspired alabaster and gold, while the pants are predominantly alabaster. The matching helmet features a matte finish, green and gold striping and a matte green facemask, giving the Packers a distinctly different appearance from their traditional glossy green helmet.

Even the helmet includes a nod to the fanbase, with "Go Pack Go" appearing on the back.

Inside the collar, the Packers added another historical detail: "Making History Since 1919." The phrase reinforces the century-plus history behind the franchise while tying together the team's past, present and future.

The result is one of the more conceptually detailed Rivalries uniforms of 2026. Instead of leaning exclusively into Green Bay's colors or its rivalry with Chicago, the Packers used the uniform to tell the story of what makes the franchise different from every other team in professional sports.

The Packers' fans aren't simply supporters, they are shareholders, and that relationship became the foundation for the design.

The Packers will debut the Rivalries uniform Oct. 11 against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field, adding another chapter to the historic rivalry.

Florida Gators Unveil Classic 1960s-Inspired Uniform Honoring Steve Spurrier’s 1966 Heisman Season

The Florida Gators are entering a new era in 2026, with Jon Sumrall taking over as head coach and a new-look staff leading the program into the upcoming season. With anticipation building in Gainesville, Florida just added another reason for fans to get excited.

The Gators have unveiled a 1960s-inspired throwback uniform honoring the 60th anniversary of Steve Spurrier’s historic 1966 Heisman Trophy-winning season.

Spurrier made history in 1966 when he became the first Florida player, and the first Gators quarterback, to win the Heisman Trophy. Six decades later, Florida is bringing back the look and feel of that era with a classic uniform designed as a tribute to one of the most important players in program history.

“A tribute to Coach Spurrier and the 1966 Heisman year,” Sumrall said Monday. “I’ve seen them, and I’m excited about them. Looking forward to them. Long way off from actually wearing them, but I do think they’re a cool tribute and such a cool look.”

The throwback uniform takes inspiration from Florida's uniforms of the 1960s, trading the more modern elements of the Gators' current uniforms for a much cleaner and traditional appearance.

The centerpiece is a white jersey and pants combination, featuring blue and orange striping along the shoulders and pants outseams. The minimal design gives the uniform a distinctly vintage feel while still maintaining Florida's signature colors.

The helmet features a classic blue shell with Florida's secondary block “F” logo on the sides. A blue-and-orange center stripe runs from front to back, completing the retro aesthetic.

The combination of the blue helmet, white uniform and orange-and-blue striping gives the Gators a look that feels straight out of the 1960s.

The timing of the uniform makes the release particularly significant.

The 2026 season marks 60 years since Spurrier captured the Heisman Trophy, an accomplishment that helped establish him as one of the defining figures in Florida football history.

Spurrier would go on to become one of the most influential figures in the program's history, eventually returning to Gainesville as Florida's head coach and leading the Gators to their first national championship in 1996.

Now, as Florida begins another new chapter under Sumrall, the program is using one of its most recognizable legends to connect the present with its past.

Classic helmet. Clean white uniforms. Blue and orange striping. And a direct connection to one of the greatest players in Florida history.

The Gators just brought a piece of 1966 back to Gainesville.

Houston Unveils 10 Hand-Painted Helmet Designs for “Gridiron Galaxy”

Houston is taking its connection to space onto the football field with “Gridiron Galaxy,” the theme for its 2026 Built By Houston game. For the October 3 matchup against UCF, the Cougars will wear 10 different hand-painted helmet, created by artist Armando Villarreal, with designs representing the Sun, the eight planets and Pluto.

The collection turns the solar system into a game-day identity, with each design connecting to Houston’s culture, character or contributions to space exploration. It also introduces a distinctive approach to an alternate look: multiple helmet designs worn by one team in the same game.

The collection follows a deliberate distribution, with designs becoming increasingly rare as they move outward from the Sun. Houston created 45 Sun helmets, followed by 23 Mercury, 19 Venus, 15 Earth, 10 Mars, eight Jupiter, five Saturn, four Uranus and three Neptune helmets.

At the end of the collection is a single Pluto helmet. The one-of-one design makes the dwarf planet the rarest piece in Houston’s Gridiron Galaxy lineup.

That distribution adds another layer to the reveal. Each helmet belongs to the same theme, but the different quantities give individual designs their own place within the collection. The hand-painted execution makes the helmets the centerpiece of this year’s Built By Houston celebration.

The Sun represents Houston’s role in the energy industry, while Mercury reflects the city’s momentum and drive to keep building. Venus draws a connection between the world beneath its clouds and the people, cultures and ideas found beyond Houston’s skyline.

Earth represents home and Houston’s longstanding role in guiding American human spaceflight through Mission Control at Johnson Space Center. Mars looks toward the future, recognizing the university’s work on space transportation, habitation and infrastructure that could support exploration beyond Earth.

Jupiter speaks to Houston’s scale and ambition across science, engineering, business and medicine. Saturn connects the beauty of its rings to the intersection of design and engineering, including the university’s work in space architecture.

Uranus represents a city that follows its own path, while Neptune reflects Houston’s resilience through powerful storms. Pluto closes the collection with a fitting distinction: one helmet for a world with an identity all its own.

Houston’s space theme draws on a connection that extends well beyond the city’s nickname. The university hosted the introduction of NASA’s second astronaut group at Cullen Auditorium, a class that included Neil Armstrong, Jim Lovell and Pete Conrad.

University alumni also became part of that history. Guion Bluford, the first African American to travel to space, earned his MBA from Houston in 1987. Bernard Harris, who graduated from the university in 1978, later became a NASA astronaut.

For 2026, the hand-painted helmets establish a signature element that can evolve alongside those themes. Gridiron Galaxy brings that idea to the field through 10 distinct designs, using the solar system to tell a story about the city and university the Cougars represent.

FIU 2026 VICE U Uniform

FIU is bringing its VICE identity back to the field in 2026 with a look built around bright pink, light blue and a bold jersey gradient. The Panthers’ latest uniform pairs Miami-inspired style with details celebrating the program’s 25th season of football.

The jersey starts with white across the shoulders and upper chest before transitioning into vibrant pink toward the waist. Paired with pink pants, the gradient creates a continuous look while giving the uniform a distinct visual signature. Black numbers stand out against both sections of the jersey, with light blue and white outlines tying them into the VICE color palette.

The sleeves carry that same combination through contrasting stripes, adding another connection between the jersey’s white upper half and pink lower half. Black player names on the back complement the numbers, keeping the lettering clear within the colorful design.

Across the front of the jersey, FIU’s proprietary “VICEU” logo takes a prominent position above the numbers. Created internally by FIU’s award-winning design team, the mark also appears within the side striping of the pants. Repeating that branding across both pieces gives the uniform a consistent identity from the chest down.

The back of the jersey includes a VICE edition of FIU Football’s 25th Season Patch. Positioned above the player name, the patch brings the program’s milestone into the alternate look with colors that complement the rest of the uniform.

What stands out about this edition is how the pieces work together. The gradient leads directly into the pink pants, the number outlines connect to the sleeve accents, and the VICEU branding carries across the jersey and pants. Each element contributes to a complete look with a clear connection to Miami.

For 2026, FIU continues to give VICE its own place within the Panthers’ uniform lineup. The latest edition combines an unmistakable color palette with custom branding and a milestone detail, bringing a fresh chapter to the program’s Miami-inspired look.

Ahead of its home opener and as Kenan Stadium celebrates its 100th season, the Tar Heels have unveiled a new alternate uniform inspired by the program’s 1980 ACC Championship team.

The throwback look pulls directly from one of the most memorable eras in Carolina football history, bringing back design elements worn by Tar Heel legends including Lawrence Taylor, Amos Lawrence and Donnell Thompson.

The centerpiece of the uniform is the jersey, which features CAROLINA across the front, a notable detail from the 1980 era. Interestingly, the jerseys featuring the Carolina wordmark were only worn during a preseason photoshoot that season and never actually appeared in a game.

The result is a throwback that feels authentically Carolina while giving fans a chance to see some of the program’s most recognizable historical elements brought back to life.

Oregon’s “Origin of Speed” Look Extends to a Special Edition Game Football

Oregon’s “Origin of Speed” identity is making its way from the uniforms to the football itself. Handcrafted by Big Game Football Factory, the 2026 Special Edition Oregon Ducks Origin of Speed Nike Vapor Elite Game Football brings custom Oregon branding to a ball built to the team’s specifications.

The special edition celebrates the Ducks’ Oct. 10 home matchup against UCLA at Autzen Stadium, adding another detail to the program’s “Origin of Speed” presentation. For a team known for its attention to design, the football gives fans another piece of the game-day look to appreciate.

The design features a black Nike Swoosh outlined in white and Oregon Green, paired with a commemorative Oregon Green and black “O” graphic. Those signature marks give the ball a clear Ducks identity while keeping the focus on two recognizable elements of Oregon’s partnership with Nike.

Rich playoff leather provides the foundation, complemented by SRS white stripes, white stitching and white Rebel Plus laces. The bright white details contrast with the leather and connect the ball’s individual elements into a cohesive finish.

Crafted in the USA to Oregon football’s specifications, the Nike Vapor Elite model brings the team’s equipment standards into a special edition available to fans. The appeal goes beyond the graphics: it offers a connection to the football built for the Ducks, whether purchased for use or displayed as part of an Oregon collection.

The release also shows how a uniform story can carry into the equipment used alongside it. Oregon’s “Origin of Speed” theme gives this football a specific connection to the season, making it a fitting companion to the Ducks’ newest look.
