Kawhi Leonard has officially been announced as the face of New Balance Basketball. In honor of the brands comeback into basketball they have chosen to break out the OMN1S model with Kawhi during the NBA All-Star weekend. New Balance Basketball posted out on their social media along with the kicks “We wanted people to vote for the debut at #NBAAllStar. But Kawhi wears whatever color he wants." The pairs sport Raptors-inspired colorways that feature varying combinations of black, white, and red. The standout pair from the group is the "All-Star" color schemed ones that feature black mesh, royal blue suede, and possibly a glow-in-the-dark outsole. We will see Kawhi hit the court in them this weekend during the All-Star Game.
Russell Westbrook had a special Valentine’s Day pair of shoes he hit the court in. Russell came out in the Bear Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 PE shoes that came in a special package to complete the themed shoe. The shoes were created to mimic a Valentine’s Day teddy bear with fur and everything. The special edition kicks came in their very own heart shaped chocolate box which Westbrook carried into the stadium ahead of the game. We have seen Westbrook catch the eye of the media and fans with his special themed kicks and packages to go along with them this season.
Michigan Basketball has rolled out their throwback uniform for their game against Michigan State on February 24th. The Wolverines will wear a maize uniform inspired by their 1989 National Championship team. The jersey will feature the old school wordmark and number across the chest with the retro piping shorts to finish off the look.
Georgia Basketball is breaking out their retro uniforms this season. The team will go with a white base look with the retro trim on and Georgia block letters across the chest. The letters and numbers are both in red with a small black outline. On the shorts we see the Georgia G placed midway up. Giving a clean look overall.
Tulane Basketball is getting into the Carnival spirit as they reveal their special edition Mardi Gras uniforms. The special uniforms feature Mardi Gras beads that as trim around the neck line of the jersey. Even the Angry Wave is getting in on the fun as we see the logo wearing a festive Mardi Gras hat. A great way to incorporate something so special to your community and gain national exposure.
The Razorbacks have revealed their throwback uniforms they will wear on March 2nd this season. The look is a nod to the to the 25th anniversary of Arkansas’ National Championship team. We see the Razorbacks wordmark across the chest of the white jerseys with the old school logo on the shorts.
The South Bay Lakers, the official G League of the Los Angeles Lakers, have revealed their special edition Lunar New Year uniform. The purple jerseys feature Chinese letters across the chest in gold with the players numbers underneath. On the bottom front of the jersey we see sponsor logo Wish while Chinese American Museum is found on the bottom back of the jersey under the player’s name. More details are found throughout the uniform that pay tribute to the Lunar New Year.
Drake has revealed their throwback uniform for the season. The Bulldogs will honor the 50th Anniversary of their 1969 Final Four team. The powder blue uniform features the Drake retro script across the chest in white with red piping. The uniform is outlined in the red and white trim. We see the sides of the shorts showoff Drake running down the sides just like the 1969 version.
Georgia Tech Men’s and Women’s Basketball will each get special edition CBC uniforms to CELEBRATE BLACK CULTURE for Black History Month. THE SPECIAL UNIFORMs were INSPIRED BY THE WOODEN FLOORS OF THE BALLROOMS WHERE BASKETBALL BECAME CULTURE DURING THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE. THE CELEBRATING BLACK CULTURE JERSEYS INCLUDE PATTERNS WHICH MIMIC FABRICS & PRINTS OF THE 1920’S THAT REPRESENTED SELF-EXPRESSION & COMMUNITY PRIDE. The collection also includes a series of corresponding kicks which echo the colors of the jazz ballrooms so important to the era. Each detail is meant to be an homage to the art, poetry, sounds and sport of the Renaissance, and to those driving their passion forward.

Rutgers is hitting the hardwood in their special CBC uniforms as part of adidas’s Black History Month special edition uniforms. The special uniform was inspired by the wooden floors of the ballrooms where basketball became culture during the Harlem Renaissance. The Celebrating Black Culture jerseys include patterns which mimic fabrics & prints of the 1920’s that represented self-expression & community pride.
