Oregon Unveils “Grateful Ducks” Uniforms for Tie-Dye Out at Autzen Stadium

The Oregon Ducks revealed special uniforms As part of Saturday’s “tie-dye out” at Autzen Stadium, the Ducks will take the field in special edition “Grateful Ducks” uniforms to celebrate the deep-rooted connection between Eugene and the legendary rock band, the Grateful Dead.

The uniforms feature bold green and yellow tie-dye numerals splashed across sleek black jerseys, blending the band’s free-spirited aesthetic with Oregon’s unmistakable flair. That same tie-dye pattern is carried onto the team’s helmets, where the Ducks’ iconic “O” logo is reimagined in swirling hues of green and yellow. The black helmets complete the look, creating a striking contrast under Autzen’s lights.

Adding to the story are intricate design details inspired by Grateful Dead iconography. Each shoulder of the jersey features a special patch combining the Ducks’ imagery with the band’s iconic Steal Your Face logo. Instead of the traditional red and blue, the lightning bolt and skull design is reimagined in Oregon green and yellow, with the skull replaced by a duck head and the lightning bolt curling upward into a Nike swoosh.

Inside the jersey collar, the Grateful Dead’s famous “dancing bears” have been given an Oregon twist, now appearing as “dancing Ducks.” The playful pattern also shows up on the rear bumper of the helmets, tying the entire theme together.

With Saturday’s tie-dye out, Oregon continues its legacy of blending sport, culture, and creativity into something truly unique. From the music to the uniforms, this weekend’s matchup is set to be one that both Ducks fans and Deadheads won’t forget.

Notre Dame Hockey Unveils New Alternate Jersey Featuring Sport-Specific Leprechaun Logo

The Fighting Irish are adding a new twist to their historic identity. Notre Dame has unveiled its second sport-specific Leprechaun logo this time for hockey and immediately placed it front and center on a brand-new alternate jersey for the 2025-26 season.

Following the debut of the Football Leprechaun logo back in August, the South Bend powerhouse revealed its new Hockey Leprechaun mark just ahead of the men’s team’s home opener.

Designed in-house by Fighting Irish Media with input from Notre Dame’s hockey program, the logo takes inspiration from photography, fundamentals, and playing styles of both past and present student-athletes. The result is a refined and energetic symbol that captures the toughness, precision, and tradition of Notre Dame Hockey.

The following day, the Irish took things a step further, unveiling a striking new alternate jersey featuring the fresh logo. The sweater boasts a crisp white base complemented by bold navy blue striping around the waist and sleeves. Inside those stripes lies a subtle green accent paired with a tonal Celtic knot pattern that gives the uniform depth and heritage.

Green shamrocks grace both shoulders, while navy blue names and sleeve numbers stand out cleanly. The back numbers feature navy blue with white and green drop shadows for added dimension, a small detail that goes a long way in defining the overall look. Of course, no Notre Dame uniform would be complete without the program’s signature metallic gold helmets, adding that unmistakable Irish shine.

Arizona State Unveils 1975 Throwback Uniform

Arizona State is reaching back into its storied history for a special look this season. The Sun Devils revealed throwback uniforms that pay homage to the iconic 1975 team, a squad that went undefeated and finished No. 2 in the AP poll, the highest ranking in program history.

The “Strategy” uniforms are a clean and classic nod to the past. The set features gold helmets with no logo and a single maroon stripe down the center, paired with white jerseys free of chest lettering. Maroon and gold striping runs along the sleeves, with the distinctive sunburst Sparky patch on the shoulders, tying the look together. Gold pants complete the retro design, bringing Sun Devil fans back to one of the program’s most memorable eras.

The timing of the throwback reveal is fitting. Earlier this year, the 1975 team was inducted into the Sun Devil Athletics Hall of Fame as part of its 50th anniversary celebration. For ASU, this look is more than just a uniform; it’s a tribute to a team that set the standard for success in Tempe.

Athletic director Graham Rossini hinted at the uniform drop during an August appearance on Arizona Sports’ State of the Sun Devils Podcast. “My favorite one is one that we have not yet announced,” Rossini teased. “We’ve been working on it for a couple years. It’s a little throwback action that we’ll get to debut in a couple weeks, and I think our fans are gonna love it.”

This isn’t the first time ASU has honored its 1975 squad on the field. In 2020, the Sun Devils wore a maroon-and-gold edition in tribute during a home game against UCLA. But this new version leans even closer to the authentic look of that undefeated team, celebrating both the style and the legacy of Sun Devil football’s golden era.

Iowa Basketball Unveils Fresh Look for the 2025-26 Season

The Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team is entering a new era and doing so in style. With a new head coach in Ben McCollum, a revamped coaching staff, and an almost entirely new roster, the program’s transformation continues with a bold uniform refresh for the 2025-26 season.

The Hawkeyes dropped new uniforms that draw inspiration from Iowa’s traditional home jerseys, maintaining the same recognizable font for the numbers, player names, and “Iowa” wordmark across the chest. However, it’s the attention to detail that sets this edition apart. A signature Hawkeye gold stripe runs down the sides of the jersey, a subtle nod to the iconic design elements of the Iowa football program.

The gold detailing doesn’t stop there. The shorts feature matching gold striping at the waist and hem, paired with the legendary Tigerhawk logo near the bottom, a perfect balance of tradition and innovation. The result is a sleek, modern uniform that still carries the unmistakable DNA of Hawkeye athletics.

As the Hawkeyes prepare to take the court this fall, one thing is clear: a new chapter is being written in Iowa City, and the team is ready to make a statement, both in play and in style.

UCLA Unveils Retro Air Jordans for Homecoming Game

The UCLA Bruins are stepping into Homecoming weekend in style. As they prepare to host the Maryland Terrapins, the Bruins are not only rolling out their iconic 1967 throwback uniforms but also debuting a special footwear collaboration with Jordan Brand, retro-inspired Air Jordan cleats that celebrate the program’s legacy and swagger.

For the third straight year, UCLA will take the field in their classic powder blue and gold throwbacks, a timeless combination that pays homage to the program’s storied past.

Jordan Brand, the Bruins’ exclusive equipment partner, has supplied the team with two new player-exclusive Air Jordan cleats: retro Air Jordan 1 Lows and Air Jordan 4 Lows. Each pair draws inspiration from the Jumpman legacy while incorporating UCLA’s distinct color palette and identity.

The Air Jordan 1 Low cleats feature a dark grey and black elephant print upper — a nod to the iconic material that defined the Air Jordan line. White laces, powder blue Swoosh logos, and the original Air Jordan Wings logo on the heel tie the look together, blending heritage with modern performance.

Meanwhile, the Air Jordan 4 Low cleats bring a sleek and modern edge. The all-black upper contrasts with powder blue accents and crisp white laces, while the powder blue Jumpman logo and “Nike Air” branding pop off the heel. Together, the cleats perfectly complement UCLA’s throwback look, bridging the gap between vintage design and contemporary energy.

Wyoming Unveils Coal-Inspired Uniforms for “Border War” Game

The Wyoming Cowboys are going dark for one of college football’s oldest rivalries. Ahead of their October 25th matchup against Colorado State, the Cowboys revealed a brand-new all-black “coal-inspired” uniform, set to debut under the lights for the annual Border War. The game marks the 117th meeting between the two schools, potentially the last, as conference realignment reshapes the college football landscape.

The Border War dates all the way back to 1899, when the two teams first clashed on Thanksgiving Day. They’ve since battled for over a century, with the coveted Bronze Boot serving as the rivalry trophy.

The Cowboys’ new uniforms, dubbed the “Cowboys-and-Coal” look, pay tribute to Wyoming’s rich mining history. The all-black set features a matte black helmet with a single white stripe down the middle and a white outline of Wyoming’s iconic Cowboy logo on each side. The front bumper reads “WYOMING” in a bold western-style font, tying back to the state’s rugged identity.

The jersey itself carries subtle textural patterns inspired by the coal industry. “Wyoming” appears in a white cursive script across the chest above large white numbers in the same western-style font seen on the helmet. Both the jersey and pants are stripeless, creating a sleek blackout effect from head to toe. A white number on the shoulders and front adds just enough contrast to keep the look balanced.

But beyond the style, the message runs deep. Wyoming is partnering with the Wyoming Mining Association to honor the hardworking men and women who have powered the state for generations. Members of the mining industry will lead the team onto the field, and miners past and present will be recognized throughout the game.
