WNBA x PUMA

The WNBA has signed a league-wide footwear deal with Puma in what is their first partnership with a professional sports league. The announcement was made over the weekend during the WNBA All-Star Game in Minneapolis. The deal that was inked allows PUMA to use the North American league’s trademarks and show WNBA players in their marketing campaigns.

Puma Clyde Court Disrupt

Puma is back in the basketball game in a big way. The shoe brand that has been out of basketball for 20 years, is making a huge splash with the signees of future NBA Players and the new on-court basketball shoe. The company has signed future NBA players Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III, Michael Porter Jr, and Zhaire Smith. The company has put Jay-Z in the creative director role as well as signing current NBA player Rudy Gay who is also with Jay-Z's sports agency, Roc Nation Sports.

The sneaker itself has a traditional Puma look to with all the upgrades needed for it to be a modern performance sneaker. The upper is knit with a cushioned midsole and padded ankle collar with an external heel counter. The shoe is inspired by the Knicks Legend Walt "Clyde" Frazier, who Puma has inked a lifetime contract with as part of the brand's revival.

Boston Celtics Auerbach Center

The Celtics have just become the "leader in the NBA’s arms race for practice facility supremacy" with the opening of their new facility coined the, Red Auerbach Center at New Balance World Headquarters. The name pays tribute to the "patriarch of the organization who led the Celtics to their first 16 world championships"

The 70-000 square foot facility has everything the team, coaching staff and front office staff could ever need without having to step foot outside of the building. Two Parquet basketball courts stand as the center point of the building. The building is also equipped with an expansive training room accessible right off the court, state of the art pool room; inclusive of cold tub, hot tub and multi-level pool, massage room, and nap room for recovery. 

When it's go time, players get ready in their brand new locker room, where their fully equipped lockers form a circle around the Celtics iconic Green Shamrock. Once they exit the locker room, players can head to the designated theatre style film room. On the opposite side, players will find their weight room and training facility. One level up, overlooking the court "is the cardio space, which features multiple stationary bikes, treadmills and other cardio equipment. Behind the cardio equipment – and overlooking both the courts and Interstate 90 – are Boston’s 17 championship banners, as well as one more empty banner that hangs as a motivating factor"

When it's time to unwind, players can head upstairs to the billiards room to play a game of pool on their customized Celtics logo table, watch TV or enjoy a bite to eat in their own restaurant that is full equipped to handle made to order meals. 

The rest of the building is considered "mixed-use space for press conferences or events, a broadcast studio, a sizable media room, expanded offices and open office space for staff, and multiple auxiliary locker rooms."

James Harden MVP Shoes

As the NBA Awards approach the favorite to bring home the league MVP award is James Harden. In honor of their top basketball player poised to bring home the hardware, adidas has three sneakers ready to celebrate the amazing accomplishment. We will see the Harden Vol 2, Harden Vol 2 LS and a Harden BTE X. All of the kicks come in the black, gold and blue colorway with MVP on the tongue.

New Uniforms for the Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets have revealed the team's new look they have been teasing for a while now. The team went through an entire rebrand from the font to logos and even the colors. The team will go back to darker reds, blues and golds, and away from the power blue.

“The Nuggets new brand identity is designed to reflect the dynamic and creative city that we call home, the new look mirrors this exciting era of Nuggets basketball, said Declan J. Bolger KSE Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “We are looking forward to incorporating the new logos and uniforms into what will be an exciting 2018-19 season.”

The team released three new uniforms in their Icon, Associate, and Statement unis. The Icon uni is their primary Navy uniform that reads Denver across the chest in gold outlined in red. The White Associate uniform has Nuggets across the chest and switches to red letters outlined by gold. The Statement jersey pays tribute to the Mile High City, the nickname of the city of Denver with a lighter blue uniform and a logo of the City's skyline.

2018 NBA Draft Hats

The 2018 NBA Draft hats are here and they are different. This year we will see each team's hat feature a pin on the front above the teams embroidered logo. While on the side each hat will have embroidered patches that go along with the team as well as the state or city flag. This look is something we have not seen before and will be interesting to see how the fans react.

Curry has launched is latest shoes, the Curry 5. We have seen Curry hit the court during the playoffs in his new shoes unlike his other signature shoes the Curry 5 comes in a low top options only. In the past we have seen Steph rock higher topped shoes due to his ankle injuries in the past. This shoe is being dubbed the tech savvy shoe of the future.

James Harden MVP Shoe

MVP candidate and favorite, James Harden, has a MVP shoe ready to go for if/when he is announced the MVP of the NBA this season. We get a first look at an adidas basketball shoe that is full of Most Valuable details. On the insole we see Harden’s path to greatness detailed from his High School American achievements in California, his First Team All-American and PAC 10 Player Of The Year honors at Arizona State, his NBA beginnings and Sixth Man accolade in OKC, to his potential MVP award. We will find out who wins the MVP Award during the NBA Awards show on June 25th.

Gerald Green's Hair

The Houston Rockets are coming off a big win in Game 2 over the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Houston's very own Gerald Green has sported some unique hairstyles to show his support for his hometown, Houston. Green's intricate braids take about 90 minutes to complete by his hairstylist. We have seen Green rocking the Rockets logo this postseason but in the past, Green has worn the Houston Astro's Star and even a clover when he was on the Boston Celtics. Green has found a way to brand himself and stand out on the court with the unique look.
