Temple Football Twitter Handles on Jerseys

Temple took a unique approach for their Spring Game by adding the player's Twitter Handles on the backs of the jerseys in replace of the player's last name. This is a new approach for how teams are relating to their players and doing things that really make a difference on the recruiting front. Hats off to Temple and their staff for this idea.

We see that Nike and Virginia Tech took the Hokie Stone and created a pattern that will be found within the numbers of each of their new jerseys.

The biggest changes come with the shoulder stripes that will now be on a slant instead of straight up and down.

New Uniforms for Illinois Football

The Fighting Illini have introduced a new clean look for their football team. The new look is centered around the past great uniforms the team has worn through the years.

Inspiration was drawn from the Dick Butkus era jerseys of the 1960s.

The traditional block I logo remains prominent on the sides of the helmet and at the base of the collar. A unique two-column pattern is set in both the jerseys and the numbers as a nod to the historic columns at Memorial Stadium, which represent Illinois soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The updated orange helmets use a shade of orange that accurately matches the orange on the uniforms and will no longer have a metallic matte finish.

The team will keep the Gray Ghost uniforms and been updated them to the new uniform style as well. We have seen Inllinois wear the uniform set each Homecoming game since 2014 as a nod to Illinois hall of famer Red Grange, better known as the "Galloping Ghost".

Tennessee Titans New Uniforms

The Titans and Nike have been in the lab for two years working on a new look for Nashville's very own and we get to see exactly what they cooked up. The biggest change you will notice is the team has switched from the normal look of the white base helmet and navy mask. You will now see the team in a navy base helmet with a silver mask with a two-tone silver stripe starting in the back and coming to a point in the front.

The team has unveiled three primary uniform color combinations that consist that they are able to mix and match; navy blue, white, Titans blue. The shoulders of each jersey now feature a two-toned silver in the shape of a sword.

There is red accents throughout the uniform as well as the red stars on the inside back of the neckline, that are meant to be in homage to the three stars from the Tennessee state flag.

The number fonts is a new look for the Titans. The font is custom and was inspired by Greek and Roman lettering. Each number is shaped to exemplifies the Northeast corner of Tennessee as the state appears on a map.

“One of the things that gets me most excited about doing this work for our clubs is to craft the why behind what creates the story and the mythology of a uniform and a club’s brand,” Chris Stackhouse, NFL Art Director said. “The Tennessee Titans, in my opinion, have a truly incredible mythology. They have a literal mythology, they are Titans. And one of the challenges brought to us by Amy was to take your brand and to infuse meaning into it, in a new story.”

MINNESOTA'S NEW ELITE UNIFORMS

The Gophers have introduced their new look that is dubbed the H.Y.P.R.R. Elite uniforms. The words and inspiration for the new uniforms comes from Coach Fleck's mantra at Minnesota of "Embracing the past to create the future." Minnesota is taking Fleck's 'Row the Boat' slogan and merging it with Minnesota's own 'Ski-U-Mah' to create this bold new look. With the new ook the team now has over 100 new uniform combinations to take the field in. The new uniforms come with 3 new jerseys; Maroon, Anthracite, or White, 3 new helmets; Maroon, Gold, or White, and 4 new pants; Maroon, White, Gold, or Anthracite.

The team's new Gold Chrome helmet is one of the nods to the past from when the team wore gold helmets but adds a new school twist with the chrome finish. On the jersey numbers and collars you will find a unique pattern of an oar, boat and compass. We will also see the oar as the center stripe on the helmets.

Trending Report: Sideline Props in College Football

From turnover over chains to pimp canes and even wrestling belts, sideline props are the new trend sweeping college football.

We first saw the trend two years ago when Alabama introduced their “Ball Out Belt” to entice their players to get after the ball and produce turnovers; and it worked in their favor. With the first week of College Football behind us, we started to see other schools picking up on Bama’s trend. Colorado State and Ole Miss’ have their own versions of the NWO inspired belt, while other schools are taking a different approach.

Texas A&M showcased their maroon and white Gig ‘Em Pimp Cane during the second quarter against UCLA. The cane was inspired by A&M’s band major’s baton (mace) and from what we can see, is awarded to the player that makes a touchdown or big play. The Aggies also have their “Turnover Trashcan” that they fill throughout the game with the footballs that are recovered by the defense.

We also saw an appearance of the "Turnover Trashcan" for the Tennessee Vols in Monday night's game against Georgia Tech. The defensive player who gets the turnover, will slam dunk the ball into the trashcan. The can features this years Team Number #121. The Volunteers, number the teams based on the number of years the team has been in existence.
