South Carolina Unveils Nike Football Uniforms

The Nike era has officially arrived in Columbia.

After months of anticipation, South Carolina football unveiled its new Nike football uniforms, giving Gamecock fans their first full look at the program's on-field identity for the 2026 season.

While the overall design doesn't stray dramatically from the uniforms South Carolina wore during its Under Armour era, the new Nike set introduces several noticeable updates that signal the beginning of a new chapter for the Gamecocks.

The reveal came through a cinematic hype video produced by South Carolina's creative team, showcasing two of the team's primary uniform combinations.

Fans got a look at the traditional white helmet, garnet jersey, and garnet pants combination expected to be worn at home, along with a garnet helmet, white jersey, and white pants combination for road games.

Although a full black alternate uniform wasn't shown, the video appeared to tease a glossy black helmet during its closing moments, hinting that additional uniform reveals could be on the way.

One of the most noticeable updates is found on the helmet. South Carolina has replaced the smaller Block C inside a white circle that has been featured in recent seasons with a larger standalone Block C, giving the helmet a cleaner, bolder appearance.

The center stripe has also been widened, creating a more prominent look from front to back.

While the uniform striping and jersey numbers remain very similar to previous designs, several smaller details separate the Nike version from its predecessor.

The placement of the logos on the pants has been flipped, with the Nike Swoosh now appearing on the left hip and the Block C logo positioned on the right leg.

Nike also integrated the SEC logo into the collar design, making it smaller and cleaner than the previous placement used on Under Armour uniforms.

Collectively, the updates create a more streamlined appearance while maintaining the overall look Gamecock fans have become familiar with over the past several seasons.

Rams Unveil Two New Alternate Uniforms

The Los Angeles Rams are celebrating two of the most iconic eras in franchise history with the introduction of two new alternate uniforms for the 2026 season.

Unveiled during the club's annual Rams Revealed Live event, the new Classic Sol and Fearsome White uniforms pay tribute to the teams and players who helped define Rams football while blending historic design elements with the club's modern look.

The Classic Sol uniform celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Rams' 1951 NFL Championship team, the franchise that delivered Los Angeles its first professional sports championship.

Inspired by one of the most recognizable uniforms in Rams history, the throwback-inspired design features a vibrant Sol jersey with layered and stitched Rams Royal numbers for a premium, vintage appearance.

One of the biggest throwback elements is the return of the original three-stripe sleeve design, while a custom Sol monogram neck tag and a modernized helmet bumper featuring typography inspired by the 1951 championship banner further connect the uniform to the historic title team.

The Rams' current helmet remains part of the uniform, paired with striped white pants to complete the nostalgic look

The Classic Sol uniform will be worn: Week 2 vs. New York Giants and Week 13 vs. Kansas City Chiefs.

The Rams' second alternate uniform honors one of the greatest defensive units in NFL history.

The Fearsome White uniform celebrates the legendary Fearsome Foursome, Rosey Grier, Deacon Jones, Lamar Lundy, and Merlin Olsen, the defensive line that transformed pass rushing and helped redefine defensive football during the 1960s and early 1970s.

The jersey blends retro inspiration with modern performance details, featuring custom name and number styling, the return of television numbers on the sleeves, and a continuous Rams Royal shoulder stripe designed to mirror the curve of the club's iconic helmet horn.

The accompanying white pants incorporate layered Royal detailing, Midnight trim, and reflective accents designed to stand out under stadium lights.

Perhaps the biggest addition is the debut of a brand-new alternate helmet.

The royal blue shell features white horns, bringing back one of the most beloved helmet designs in franchise history while maintaining the club's current helmet profile. A newly designed Fearsome White front bumper logo completes the look.

The Fearsome White uniform will make its debut: Week 12 vs. Green Bay Packers in the NFL's first-ever Thanksgiving Eve.

The Rams didn't simply create two new alternate uniforms, they told two different chapters of the franchise's story.

East Carolina Will Honor Chris Johnson with Special Helmet Decal Throughout the 2026 Season

East Carolina football will carry one of its greatest players onto the field all season long.

ECU announced that the Pirates will wear a special helmet decal throughout the 2026 football season in honor of former running back Chris Johnson as he courageously battles amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Johnson recently shared that he has been diagnosed with sporadic ALS. Since making his diagnosis public, the ECU legend has used his platform to raise awareness for the disease while offering hope and encouragement to others affected by ALS.

"Chris is a Pirate legend, but more importantly, he is a special member of the ECU family, and we want him to know that Pirate Nation is with him every step of the way," ECU Director of Athletics Jon Gilbert said in the school's announcement.

Head coach Blake Harrell echoed that message, emphasizing that Johnson's impact extends far beyond what he accomplished on the football field.

"Chris Johnson will forever be a Pirate, and when one of our own faces a challenge like this, we stand together as one Pirate family," Harrell said. "Every time our team takes the field this season, we will proudly carry his name and his fight with us."

The commemorative decal will be worn on every ECU helmet throughout the season alongside the team's American flag and American Athletic Conference decals.

Johnson remains one of the most accomplished players in East Carolina history. Wearing No. 5 from 2004–07, he finished his collegiate career third on the school's all-time rushing list and first in all-purpose yards, while setting 18 school records across single-game, season, and career categories.

ECU will debut the helmet decal when the Pirates open the 2026 season on Sept. 5 against Alabama.

Buccaneers Bring Back Their Original 1976 Throwback Uniforms

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are running it back. After initially saying there were no plans to wear their iconic 1976 throwback uniforms beyond the franchise's 50th anniversary celebration, the Buccaneers announced that the beloved look will return once again during the 2026 season.

Tampa Bay will wear the original white throwback jerseys, white pants, and classic white helmets featuring the original "Bucco Bruce" logo when they host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13. The return comes after a memorable debut season for the uniforms in 2025.

The Buccaneers wore the vintage look twice during their 50th anniversary season and came away victorious in both games. Tampa Bay edged the New York Jets 29-27 in Week 3 before defeating the Seattle Seahawks 38-35 in Week 5. Fittingly, Seattle also wore its own original 1976 throwback uniforms in that matchup, creating one of the best uniform showdowns of the NFL season.

Originally introduced during the franchise's inaugural 1976 season, the uniforms remain one of the most recognizable throwback designs in football. From the white helmet featuring the smiling sword-carrying Bucco Bruce logo to the vibrant orange, red, and white color palette, the look has become a fan favorite and one of the NFL's most iconic retro uniforms.

Sometimes tradition is worth bringing back, and for the Buccaneers, the original 1976 uniforms continue to prove they're as timeless as ever.

New York Jets Unveil New "White Out" Helmets

The New York Jets are adding another clean look to their uniform rotation. The Jets officially unveiled their new "White Out" helmets, which will debut in Week 2 when New York hosts the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 20.

The helmet is exactly what the name suggests, a completely white shell paired with a matching white facemask to create the franchise's first true monochrome white look.

The design features a green version of the Jets' modernized logo, first introduced with the team's 2024 rebrand, on both sides of the helmet. A green "NY" mark sits on the forehead, flowing into a single green center stripe that runs the length of the helmet. The stripe is complemented by green player numbers on the back positioned above a matching "New York" wordmark.

The new helmet perfectly complements the Jets' Legacy White uniform, creating one of the cleanest all-white combinations in the NFL.

New York returned to its iconic "Sack Exchange" era uniforms full-time in 2024, modernizing the classic look originally worn from 1978-97. Since then, the franchise has built one of the league's most versatile uniform lineups with Legacy Green, Legacy White, and Legacy Black uniforms, giving the Jets three distinct monochrome combinations. The addition of the White Out helmet completes that vision.

The Jets have quietly assembled one of the NFL's strongest uniform rotations over the past two seasons, and the new White Out helmet is another impressive addition to the collection.

West Virginia Football Brings Back Gloss White Helmet

West Virginia Football is making another subtle adjustment to its uniforms for the 2026 season, continuing the program's recent embrace of its traditional identity.

The Mountaineers have officially unveiled a new gloss white helmet, replacing the matte white shell that had been part of the uniform rotation since the 2013 season. While the change may seem minor at first glance, it represents another step toward blending some of the most recognizable eras in West Virginia football history.

The new helmet features a glossy white finish with the familiar blue outline of the state of West Virginia and the iconic gold Flying WV logo centered inside the decal. Aside from the finish itself, the overall design remains clean and unmistakably Mountaineers.

The move marks the end of an era for West Virginia's matte white helmet, which debuted during the program's major uniform overhaul in 2013. That redesign introduced a much more minimalistic look featuring the now-familiar pickaxe-inspired number font, replacing the bold, NASCAR-style numerals worn during the Pat White and Geno Smith years under Rich Rodriguez.

Penn State Football Unveils New adidas Uniforms

A new apparel era has officially begun in Happy Valley, but one thing remains unchanged: Penn State's timeless football uniforms.

As adidas officially took over as Penn State Athletics' apparel provider on July 1, the Nittany Lions unveiled their new football uniforms, giving fans their first look at one of college football's most iconic designs under a new brand. For a program known for its unwavering commitment to tradition, the biggest takeaway is simple, the uniforms look almost exactly as they did before.

The classic navy home jersey, crisp white road uniform, plain helmets and black cleats all remain intact. The only immediately noticeable difference is the replacement of Nike's Swoosh with adidas' signature Three Stripes, marking the beginning of a new chapter while preserving one of the sport's most recognizable identities.

The decision to leave the uniforms largely untouched comes as little surprise. Penn State has made only minor adjustments to its football uniforms over the past five decades, making consistency one of the defining characteristics of the program's brand. When adidas announced its partnership with Penn State in 2025, the company made it clear that preserving the university's tradition would be a top priority.

"adidas is committed to partnering with universities like Penn State that possess rich tradition and championship potential in equal measure," said John Miller, President of adidas North America. "We see this new agreement as a unique opportunity for us to help shape the next chapter of Penn State Athletics while staying true to everything that makes the Nittany Lions an iconic brand."

For many Penn State fans, the lack of dramatic change may be the biggest victory of all. In an era where alternate uniforms, bold redesigns and frequent brand refreshes have become commonplace across college football, the Nittany Lions continue to embrace a philosophy built around consistency and tradition.
